I really, really enjoyed this game!

It has a really great atmosphere, and really spooked me out. I really enjoyed the fact that it was based on a real folklore, which was entertaining and quite educational reading through the itch page.
And of course, I love PSX aesthetics, so this game was a home run for me, well done!

Here's my gameplay for anyone interested:

Thanks for playing. I saw your video first on reddit lol, I leaved a comment in your video :)

Loved the game! PSX style is always appreciated and the atmosphere was way more tense than typical indie horror fare.

Thanks for playing I hope you enjoyed it!

Awesome stuff! Would love to see more like this! The puzzles were great!

Would've preferred if the appearances weren't so scripted. But even though they were it still scared the CRAP out of me!

Well done!

Like, Share and Sub if you guys enjoy the video 😊

What a great game! great atmosphere and creepy. Well done gamedeboi! Only criticism for me was I struggled to read the notes a bit in game but during the recording they were much clearer, it could be a problem on my end but still amazing game!

Llorona is a fantastic PS1-style horror game with a lot of thought and care behind it. I played one of the developer’s previous works, which was more of a short, experimental experience (Come to Play), but saw the quality in such a brief adventure. So it comes as no surprise that this beefier experience of Mexican folklore would be so good. Llorona delves into some old-school survival horror gameplay techniques, such as exploring the mansion and its grounds, finding items to be used elsewhere to proceed, solving puzzles and finding notes and diary entries that piece the story together. Throughout, Llorona never loses that eerie quality. I think it’s one of the better horror games released here in awhile. If you’re a fan of the genre, it’d be a shame to miss this.

Thank you for playing! It means a lot that I got you with a scare. You're not an easy person to spook in my experience haha

hi, big thx for the cool game. greetings from rosti 😀

Danke, dass du mein Spiel gespielt hast! Ich wünschte, ich könnte Deutsch sprechen, ich habe Google Übersetzer verwendet. Ich hoffe ich habe dich erschreckt

Thank you!!!

Really enjoyed this! Please check out my play through below :)

Loool when Llorona scared you and you said "asshole" I felt like you were talking directly to me cuz I put her there to scare. That made me really happy, thanks for playing

Fantastic experience! I loved the sound design, incredibly creepy but all the real jump scares are fairly quiet. Incredible job, good luck in the jam!

Thanks for playing Steve, you have a great voice and I enjoyed your gameplay a lot!

Me encantó tu juego, muchas felicidades.

Hey! Please, can you make a 32bit version?

Sure! Can you reach me out on twitter or ig to help me test it? I don't have a 32 bit PC available atm. I can do the export and send it to you to see if everything works fine and if it does, then I'll  upload  the files here.  my ig  is: gamdevboi_ and  my twitter is @gamdevboi. I had some issues with a Mac and Linux versions and I don't want to upload something broken again. :)

This was REALLY good! A nice linear story that grabbed my attention, very well executed small puzzle bits, and a handful of great jump scares. What more could you ask for in a horror game? Great Job!

(+1)

You did an amazing job with the jumpscares they probably got me the best of any game that I have played and it goes to show that they don't need to be super big or loud just very well timed. Good job all around!.

Thanks for playing! :D

Not a bad game. Definitely had a good atmosphere. Nice job.

Here's my channel for other games I have played. http://www.youtube.com/c/Levont

Hello! Thank you for playing! :)

It was good.

Thank you! Glad you liked it! :P

Really creepy and atmospheric. I had a lot of fun with this and some good reactions, and thank you very much for helping with the correct pronunciation!

Thanks for playing!! I really appreciate you taking the time to read all I wrote about the game, the folklore and the small details I added.

Poor kids. P.S Nice job.

Indeed poor kids. And P.S. Thanks for playing bro glad you liked it!

The mac version of the game crashes right after I left click on the first dialog

Thanks for the heads up, I'm aware there's some bugs with mac and linux. I'm removing them until fixed.

Absolutely breathtaking with a good focus on old aesthetics, has a moderate feeling of horror but I absolutely do not care because I love your art style and the good ambience. 5/5

thanks a lot! I put special atention to the art style here, I consider myself a noobie emulating old ps1 aesthetic but I tried my best! I appreciate the fact you liked it!

(+1)

I think it's interesting. thank you very much

Thanks to you for playing my game! Glad you liked it! :D

Hey! I downloaded this after I saw you post about it on Reddit (and Alpha Beta Gamer posted gameplay on YT). I love the aesthetic, subject matter, and fact that I can play it in Spanish. However, the Mac version seems to crash whenever I click the mouse during gameplay. I'm running Mojave. Hope this is something that gets fixed in the future so I can play it for myself. Good luck with the game jam!

(+1)

I'm taking a look at both linux and mac versions. The game was developed with windows in mind but I'm going to take a look so you guys can also play it! The more the better! :)

The update works! Thank you, I very much enjoyed playing it. Amazing atmosphere, made me jump more than once!

I am super glad to hear that! Thank you for playing my game!

Thank you for posting that, it'll be really useful. I'll be sure to take a look at both Mac and Linux versions of the game since apparently the ports have issues.

The horror in this is very subtle. I felt constantly on edge. the voice acting is good. The jumpscares are on point. The story is incredible. When i come to mexico i would love to see the mansion.

I don't know, it was a long time I didn't play something like this. I guess I'm kinda used to this kind of horror, because I felt rather relaxed, although my hands were shaking at each vision, so I still had fun!

Agree I put some relaxing moments on purpose to allow the player to think calmly about the puzzles. My goal here was to make it scary but I also wanted that anyone who plays can finish the game and see the story and feel good because they figured out the small little puzzles. Thanks for playing! I'm really happy when I get to make people shaky :P

linux version dosen''t work the start dialouge says"null" (if you don't know the answer please just dont reply its annoying)

great creepy ...me gustaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Thanks for playing. I hope tou enjoyed it and I hope I got you scared!
